The great thing about Telford STaRS is we actively involve you in your own recovery care plan. We believe you can make changes for the better, and we know the best way to support you to achieve your goals is by listening to what you want combined with using our knowledge and experience of what works.

Whether your drinking has got a little out of hand, and you want help cutting down, if you are alcohol dependent, or if your alcohol use has impacted on your own life and your relationships with those around you – we have something for everyone. Below is an overview of some of the interventions/treatment available from us:

  • Brief advice, information and alcohol education
  • Harm reduction information and literature
  • Assertive out-reach
  • Structured one-to-one support
  • Structure treatment programmes
  • Inclusion Recovery Programme (an intensive cognitive -behavioural-therapy-based programme)
  • Group support
  • Group work
  • Access to medical support, including detoxification
  • Health and wellbeing promotion and clinics
  • Access to inpatient and residential services
  • Support to achieve abstinence if appropriate
  • Referral to inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation
  • Liaison with other professionals such as GP’s and sexual health clinics
  • Relapse prevention and management
  • Peer support opportunities
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Access to mutual aid

We recognise and support the important role mutual aid may have in an individual’s recovery journey and work with partner agencies to ensure there is as much variety of options available as possible. Telford STaRS provides Self Management and Recovery Training (SMART) and we work closely with Telford After Care Team (TACT) which provides mutual aid, after care and support for people recovering from substance addiction and associated issues.
